Pan KampylisPanagiotis G. Kampylis (/panayiotis kampilis/) was born in Astros Kynourias on 1967. He graduated the Faculty of Primary Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and he works as a primary school teacher since 1994.  He has also studied Music Theory into Apollonian Conservatoire of Athens and he has done refresh training studies, to Maraslio Didaskalio of University of Athens.  

Since 1994 he has done many presentations in workshops, seminars and conferences (see publications). He has authored the books Creative Activities for 3rd and 4th Grade and Creative Activities for 5th and 6th Grade (Patakis Publications, 2008; 2009). He has also co-authored (with I. Spetsiotis) the books The Music Lab (Ellinika Grammata Publications, 2000), The Invisible Orchestra (Ellinika Grammata Publications, 2002) and Toys – a Multidisciplinary Approach (Orion Publications, 2008). He has published several articles in national and international journals (see publications) in the fields of Creativity, Musical Education and ICT-based learning.   

He has been a member of the organising committee of national conferences and he is member of the editorial boards of the peer-reviewed journals Moysiki se proti Vathmida (Music in the first Grade) and Approaches. He is active member of the board of the Greek Association of the Primary Music Education Teachers (GAPMET) and associate editor of the Hellenic Journal of Music, Education, and Culture. He is also member of the following professional bodies: European Association on Learning and Instruction (EARLI), British Educational Research Association (BERA), American Creativity Association (ACA), and American Psychology Association Division 10. He is member of the board of experts of the European Music Portfolio multilateral Comenius project and responsible for the website and learning management system of the project. 

He received his degree as Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) by the Faculty of Information Technology, Department of Computer Science and Information Systems of University of Jyväskylä, Finland after a scholarship by the Greek State Scholarships Foundation. The title of his Ph.D. dissertation is “Fostering creative thinking - the role of primary teachers” and it is available in an electronic form here     

His research interests also include the construction of improvised musical instruments and toys, the utilization of ICT in primary education, the utilization of arts in the context of primary education, teachers' training, and e-learning.
